Simple possession of cocaine, or for that matter, methamphetamine or heroine or crack cocaine, is classified as a Class 4 felony in Nebraska. If the charges were brought after August 2015 the penalties are up to 2 years in jail and up to a $10,000.00 fine. If the charges were brought prior to August of 2015 the penalty carried up to 5 years in jail and up to a $10,000.00 fine.
